c£35,000 per annum DOE

Camberley

Full-Time/Permanent

An exciting new Fire Alarms Team Leader role has arisen within our client's business. We are seeking a customer-focused, results-driven team leader. Someone who is able to motivate others to get the best out of them. A good communicator and team player, flexible and able to keep calm under pressure. You will need to be a self-motivated and proactive individual to make sure projects and teams run smoothly.

The role will require 30-50% of time to be spent on the tools initially, but over time this will develop into a purely supervisory position. You will have a minimum of 8 years’ experience in the fire alarm industry and have strong technical knowledge, preferably with an electrical qualification, although this is not essential.

So, what could a normal day consist of?

  • Carrying out fire alarm installation surveys and quotes

  • Working with the office to co-ordinate installation projects, making sure they are adequately resourced and the right parts are ordered

  • Agreeing weekly fire alarm team schedules with the office, making sure the team is working productively and profitably

  • Providing information for quotes for remedial works resulting from planned maintenance

  • Completing job and survey/quote request documentation daily, ensuring the back office has the information it needs

  • Supporting the back office by providing expert guidance and advice

  • Consistently delivering the highest level of customer service

  • Some work on tools: installations, commissioning, planned maintenance, fault-finding, call-outs, and repairs

  • Sharing the out of hours call-out rota on a 1 in 4 basis

The successful candidate for this Fire Alarms Team Leader should have a minimum of 8 years’ experience in the fire alarm industry and have strong technical knowledge, preferably with an electrical qualification, although this is not essential.

You should be able to demonstrate leadership skills including managing and motivating teams, allocating & organising work for others, delivering team targets, and problem-solving.

You should also be able to demonstrate a track record of quoting for and winning installation business.

What do you want from me?

To be considered for this Fire Alarms Team Leader role, you will need the following experience:

  • 5+ years’ fire alarms experience with at least 6 months in a supervisory role

  • Good understanding of BS5839 and/or BAFE requirements

  • Broad experience of fire alarm systems such as Morley, Advanced and Kentec

  • Able to successfully carry out fire alarm installation surveys

  • Electrical qualification preferred but not essential
