FMCG/Factory Recruitment in Kent

Simpson Dean were brought on board to find suitable employees across a factory based FMCG SME struggling with employee longevity and reliability across both temporary and long term/full time hires. Simpson Dean visited the site in person to get an understanding of the business at the ground level, and this helped give some great insight into recruiting for these roles.

Across 4 positions, Simpson Dean found 8 viable candidates who could start straight away, along with 3 additional candidates in existing positions looking to move.

We additionally helped add an extra degree of flexibility during the recruitment process and offered the client the option to see that candidates that only wanted permanent positions, despite this not being in their original brief, allowing Simpson Dean to place all 3 permanent candidates, plus an additional 2 temporary members of staff – more than the original brief outlined.

We are a manufacturing facility based near Ashford, Kent which has been trading for 18 years. Until 2021 we had always dealt with recruitment in house and had been fortunate to find candidates who are now long serving members of staff.

Recruitment in 2021 proved to be more difficult and following some unsuccessful placements we made the decision to try a recruitment agency.

Simpson Dean visited the site to get an understanding about our business and employment requirements. They were not only helpful in explaining the current market but offered the unique service of interviewing potential candidates before submitting their details to us. Along with their c.v. a short explanation is sent about each candidate. This is extremely helpful in deciding which candidates to interview. Simpson Dean carried out registration and background checks before arranging the face to face interviews. Our success rate for finding suitable employees has improved dramatically. We now use Simpson Dean as our recruitment agency of choice for Permanent staff and will approach them for Temporary staff should the need arise.

Construction Recruitment in Buckinghamshire

We began working with a construction business where the employer faced difficulty finding experienced candidates within the applicable salary range, or junior employees with the drive and ability to work well within the business without necessarily having as much experience.

Simpson Dean helped the client look at pitching towards candidates in a different way, which helped encourage more candidates to apply. We also cast a wider net and started to speak to all candidates who applied, even if they didn’t have the experience or qualifications that would immediately qualify them for their respective positions.

With this being a smaller business, there were only 2 staff working at the time we started the recruitment process, however now the client has exclusively used Simpson Dean for both their permanent and temporary recruitment, and as a result has expanded to 6 staff members and growing.
