An exciting opportunity has arisen for a CFD Analyst to join our client's prestigious business. We are seeking an experienced Senior Flow Analyst to join the team based in Surrey and work on a number of projects across the country. What do you want from me?

To be considered for this CFD Analyst role, you will need the following experience:

  • Pratical experience with Computational Fluid Dyanamics (CFD) Analysis (Essential)
  • Bachelor’s Degree with a strong focus on Aerodynamics/Hydrodynamics (Essential)
  • Experience in application of CFD to industrial problem solving (I.e., Star-CCM+, Fluent, CFX, etc.) (Essential)
  • Exceptional skills in the use of Excel, including VBA programming (Essential)
  • Understanding of engineering documents and drawings (Essential)
  • Excellent presentation skills and ability to convey concepts and ideas to other engineers (Essential)
  • A good understanding of key mechanical design engineering concepts (Essential)
  • Experience in the use of Siemens Star-CCM+ (Desirable)
  • Intermediate level skills in Java or another similar object orientated programming language (Desirable)
  • A good understanding of oil and gas topsides processes (Desirable)
  • Experience in the application of multiphase CFD to industrial problem solving (Desirable)
  • Some experience in the oil and gas industry (Desirable)

The successful candidate for this CFD Anlalyst role will have an exceptional eye for detail and excellent communication skills, both written and spoken. Hands on experience in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) will be essential for this role as our client is looking for someone experienced and confident to hit the ground running. Due to the growth of the business, exceptional performance will be recognised and opportunities for progression are in reach for someone who is not afraid to demonstrate their skills and go the extra mile. To be considered for this role, you may be required to elaborate on both your practical and technical capabilites, as the client is eager to find someone with a track records for delivering projects effectively and to high standard. Experience in any of the following programmes is desirable but not essential: AutoPad, Solidworks, 4ran, Python or DBA.

So, what could a normal day consist of?

  • Coordinate Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) applications for projects and innovation and liaise effectively with colleagues on objectives, input parameters and results
  • Control and enhance specific proprietary design software (including: fluids testing, CFD, process reviews, etc)
  • Assist with costing of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) projects, provide technical input during the tendering stage, and participate in the promotion of the company as required
  • Attend meetings at client’s premises to discuss and present company solutions and technology
  • Visit 3rd party organisations as appropriate to ensure effective communication and progress of specific objectives on projects
  • Participate in innovation projects and liaise with project stakeholders on test parameters and results
  • Support, participate in and contribute to company and team training and mentoring.
  • Occasional travel as and when required, including to onshore and offshore installations
  • Mentor, support and validate the work of junior members of the team
