Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a multi-disciplined Fire and Security Engineer for our client based in Surrey.

Your day to day duties will include:

  • Servicing of equipment to recognized standards (Product training is given where required)
  • Ensuring work allocated is carried out in most efficient and cost-effective manner
  • Looking for and identifying commercial opportunities and ensuring that these are developed either by own actions or by passing information on to the Head of Fire Alarms or Sales Force as appropriate
  • Ensuring all paperwork/documentation is completed legibly and returned to required timescales.
  • Maintaining records by documenting services and tests
  • Working closely with the Head of Fire Alarms and attending team meetings with the Head of Fire Alarms and other Engineers to keep abreast of developments
  • Maintaining customer rapport by resolving concerns, answering questions
  • Maintaining safe and secure work environment by following safe practices
  • Keeping all client and company information confidential
  • Ensuring sufficient van stock to cover remedials and requesting supplies in a timely manner

To be considered for this exciting Fire and Security Engineer role, you will need the following experience:

  • At least 5 years’ relevant work history
  • Electrical qualifications desirable (i.e. 17th edition etc.)
  • Knowledgeable on relevant British Standards and legislative requirements
  • Able to survey and quote for works appropriate to role
  • IT skills preferable
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Available for call-outs out of hours on a rota basis
  • A full UK driving license mandatory
  • Must be able to pass a security check – Enhanced DBS

The successful candidate will be fully conversant with Fire, Intruder, CCTV and Access Controls and able to service customers’ alarm equipment in accordance with company standards. The successful candidate will also be required to carry out small to medium installations. They should be able to recognise additional business opportunities and develop them where possible whilst at all times presenting a professional, knowledgeable and courteous image to the customer.
